As part of the A.P.C. x Brain Dead Collaboration, the Jo Gilet is a unisex style that can be layered over t-shirts, button through shirts and jumpers for extra insulation without unwanted bulk. The front has a soft ecru coloured polyester outer with contrasting polyester mesh inserts across the upper part of the chest and a contrasting lilac coloured square pocket on the left side. Fastened by a zip entrance point, the chest pocket is made from polyester with a smooth surface that contrasts the fleece and a white woven label has been sewn on top showing a collaborative logo design. On either side of the waist two vertical welt pockets with matching nylon entrance points have been added for extra storage of essentials and a breathable mesh lining can be found within. On the inside two large integrated compartments sit above either side of the hem.
The same black polyester mesh has been used across the reverse as a base for a quirky text graphic that has been printed in yellow across the shoulders in a stylised font with bold ‘A.P.C.’ lettering in between. Neatening the seams and adding further colour, orange piping runs along the edge of the arm holes, neckline and hem.
Entitled ‘Future Shock for Interaction #3’ the A.P.C. x Brain Dead collaboration takes cues for sci-fi movies and combines stylised typography and bright colour pops with refined silhouettes and textural fabric choices for an eye catching finish. An unexpected partnership for autumn/winter ‘19, A.P.C. are a Paris based atelier known for their elevated everyday basics, whilst Brain Dead is an L.A. based streetwear brand that specialises in graphic t-shirts and elaborate print designs.
